| In February of 1945, one of the cruellest battles of the theater Pacífico da Segunda world war takes place in the very small island of Iwo Jima. Like a powerful inspiration to American patients of the war, the photo becomes a symbol of the Allied cause. Three surviving creators of flag, Rene Gagnon, John Bradley, and Ira Hayes, are beaten behind to the civilization to help to lift bottoms for the war effort.
