| In 1501, in Western Europe, for a period when the black plague compromises populations, army of interested peasants leaded by Martin (Rutger Hauer) struggles abreast with noble Arnolfini (Fernando Hilbeck) to recover its castle, with the promise of a huge reward. However, the band is betrayed by Arnolfini and decides to reimburse it, by attacking and by stealing a caravan under the order of Arnolfini and his son and student, Steven (Tom Burlinson). In one of the wagon fiancée of Steven, Agnes travels (Jennifer Jason Leigh), who is incidentally taken away and rapes later by the group. Agnes becomes the mate of Martin and the mercenaries decide to pervade a castle, without knowing that the army of Arnolfini hunts them.
