| A young woman (Juliette Lewis) moves into a new apartment that she inherited from her grandmother, who had died there in a bizarre accident. She is immediately confronted by totally bizarre neighbors and someone is obviously out to get her as rats and flies engulf her apartment. But with the array of weirdos around her, who might it be? Everyone warns her to stay away from her upstairs neighbor (Austin Pendleton), but he is the only one who shows any kindness. Supposedly the neighbor below her is an 80 year old woman, but she hammers the floor so hard when the young woman moves furniture that she breaks tiles. Another neighbor (Shelley Duvall) seems kind enough to begin with, but later seems more interfering and threatening. Also her weatherman boy friend (William Hurt) can't be ruled out. Contrary to his desire for her to move in with him, she moved into their apartment. Picture builds suspensefully throughout the beginning, but slips into the expected threatened woman film at its culmination. Search keywords

| In not for the time being the future the polar ice hats merged and the resultant forces stand up of the ocean waters it drowned all the coastal cities of the world. Withdrawn to the interior of the continents, it keeps on advancing the human race, managing to the point of creating realistic robots (it called wicks) to serve him. One of the companies of wick-production is built by David, an artificial child who is first in having true sensations, specially an interminable love for his "mother", Monica. Monica is the woman who adopted it like a substitute for his truthful son, who remains in the cryo-stasis fought for an incurable disease. David is living fortunately with Monica and his husband, but when his truthful son returns at home after a cure is discovered, his life modifications dramatically. A futurist adaptation of the story on Pinocchio, with David who is the "false" boy who desperately wants to be "true".
No não por enquanto o futuro os gorros de gelo polares fundiram-se e os resultantes levantam das águas oceânicas afogou todas as cidades costeiras do mundo. Retirado ao interior dos continentes, a corrida humana continua avançando, conseguindo ao ponto de criar robôs realistas (chamou mechas) para servir-lhe. Uma das companhias de mecha-produção constrói David, uma criança artificial que é primeira em ter verdadeiras sensações, especialmente um amor interminável por sua "mãe", Monica. Monica é a mulher que o adotou como um substituto por seu verdadeiro filho, que permanece na cryo-estase, batida por uma doença incurável. David está vivendo felizmente com Monica e seu marido, mas quando seu verdadeiro filho volta em casa depois que uma cura é descoberta, as suas modificações de vida dramaticamente.
