| The whole story takes place in Chicago. A policeman is murdered in a cold-blooded way in one of some illicit taprooms. Tomek Zaleska who on the ill-fated night was staying at Franek's flat is suspected of the homicide. They are both sentenced to 99 years of prison, with the conviction based merely on the testimony of one witness. Frank's mother who believes that her son is innocent after eleven years places an announcement in the local newspaper in which she offers 5000 dollars reward for anybody who would prove the innocence of her son. The chief editor of Chicago Times gets interested in the case and commissions to one of his journalists, McNeal (in this part great James Stewart) writing an article about it. Initially his view on the issue is quite skeptical, but later on he gradually starts to believe that Frank is innocent. He also faces the growing resistance from the local authorities. | The history begins like "Dom Vito Corleone", chief of a Mafia of Nova Iorque "family", watches the marriage of his daughter. His son dear Michael has just returned for house of the war, but there does not intend to be made the part of the business of his father. For Michael's life the nature of the business of family is clear. The business of the family is like the head of the family, gentle and benevolent to that what give the respect, but fact to the cruel violence whenever something is against the good of the family. Dom Vito survives his life in the way of the old country, but times it is modified and anyone do not want to follow the old ways and to look for the community and "the family". A rival and near one of the family Corleone wants to begin to sell drugs in Nova Iorque, and his plan needs it of the influence of the Gift besides that. The crash of the desbotamento of the Gift old world-wide values and the new ways it will demand a terrible price, specially of Michael, all because of the family.
A história começa como "Dom Vito Corleone", chefe de uma Máfia de Nova Iorque "família", vigia o casamento de sua filha. Seu filho querido Michael acaba de voltar para casa da guerra, mas não pretende tornar-se a parte do negócio do seu pai. Pela vida de Michael a natureza do negócio de família fica clara. O negócio da família é como a cabeça da família, gentil e benevolente àqueles que dão o respeito, mas dado à violência cruel sempre que algo esteja contra o bem da família. Dom Vito vive a sua vida no caminho do velho país, mas tempos está modificando-se e alguns não querem seguir os velhos caminhos e procurar a comunidade e "a família". Um rival e próximo da família Corleone quer começar a vender drogas em Nova Iorque, e precisa da influência do Dom a além disso o seu plano. O estrondo do desbotamento do Dom velhos valores mundiais e os novos caminhos exigirá um preço terrível, especialmente de Michael, todos por causa da família. Search keywords
