| To begin in the years 1930, "The English patient" tells the count's history Almasy that is a manufacturer of Hungarian map employed by the Real Geographical Society to draw the vast expansions of the Desert of Sahara together with several other prominent explorers. Since the Second world war opens, Almasy establishes a world of love, treason, and politics that is revealed then in series of retrospective looks inserted in unrolling of the scene while Almasy is in his mortal bed after being awfully burned in an airplane shock.
