However, the gods seize the opportunity to make Odysseus and his crew a domino in their games forcing him to take detours that add years to his trip and throw him into conflict with Circe, the Cyclops, Poseidon, and ultimately to Hades itself. Meanwhile, Odysseus' wife, Penelope, is forced to hold off suitors trying to claim his property in the thought that Odysseus has died. Nonetheless, Odysseus keeps trying to find his way back with the aid of Athena. |

| Nikolai Rochenko, a Russian ballet dancer who deserted 8 years ago to the west. He is in an airplane which flies over Russia if all at once a malfunction makes the airplane land in Russia. The KGB says everybody that his injuries are so strict that he must remain, confide for some time. But in reality they want that he returns to them, they bring him to his old flat and an American, Raymond Greenwood who deserted to itself to Russia several years ago is there laid to observe carefully on him. However, Rochenko does not have to surrender before and is to be fled resolutely. So with the help of his former lover he gets word to the Americans. And even Raymond is started to be sobered with Russia, and he must decide whether he is to be done, besides what he was sent to act Rochenko or to help him.
