| Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) is a medium woman fighting against her age, her weight, her job, her lack of a man and a lot of her imperfections. Fireworks begin when it charming well that the boss dishonouring (Hugh Grant) finds interesting for eccentric Miss Jones and tops and bottoms of their unhappy report prove to be hilarious and touching immediately. Thrown in the mixture are Bridget's band of slightly eccentric friends and of rather unpleasant knowledge (Hake Firth) which Bridget cannot seem to give up striking or helps it thinking slowly attractive.

Lancé dans le mélange sont la bande de Bridget d'amis légèrement excentriques et d'une connaissance assez désagréable (Colin Firth) que Bridget ne peut pas sembler arrêter de heurter ou l'aide trouvant doucement attrayant.
