| Margo Dey too much does not differ from other girls of secondary school. She is clever, she is pretty and she has a job of part-time job in a morgue. Margo spends the nights by crossing the massive corridors of mausoleum, by talking to her "quiet friends" as she goes of the cleaning of the ancient floors of marble. The peculiar companion of the Earth of Margo is George, the nocturnal security guards, a man so taken up with grief on the loss of his daughter that he seems even more died in the world than bodies in the morgue. The isolation of the nocturnal shelter of Margo is smashed when Peter and granny Townsend appear mysteriously of darkness with nothing else than an empty gas can and a scared girl, Jill. Margo helps the visitors in the re-establishment of their cold walking in night and fact of preparations to help them to come back on the road. It becomes obvious soon however, that something in the morgue wants that they stay. Action kicks at the top equipment when Jacob and his hurt friend Samim enters waterspout hopelessly the morgue in search of assistant, by creating a tornado of panic and of mistrust. In a very short time, the mottled group of foreigners is forced to use as they struggle to avoid the menacing shadow which never comes into sight more near with every temporary breath.
Margo Dey n'est pas trop différent d'autres filles de collège. Elle est intelligente, elle est jolie et elle a un travail du travail à temps partiel dans une morgue. Margo passe ses nuits en traversant les couloirs de mausolée massifs, en causant avec ses "amis tranquilles" comme elle va du nettoyage des planchers de marbre anciens. Le compagnon terrestre singulier de Margo est George, les gardiens nocturnes, un homme si monté avec le chagrin sur la perte de sa fille qu'il semble encore plus mort au monde que les cadavres dans la morgue. L'isolement du refuge nocturne de Margo est fracassé quand Peter et Mamie Townsend apparaissent mystérieusement de l'obscurité avec rien d'autre qu'un gaz vide peut et une jeune fille effrayée, Jill. Margo aide les visiteurs dans le rétablissement de leur randonnée froide à la nuit et fait des préparations pour les aider à rentrer sur la route. Cela devient évident bientôt cependant, que quelque chose à la morgue veut qu'ils restent. L'action donne un coup de pied dans le haut équipement quand Jacob et son ami blessé Samim entrent en trombe désespérément dans la morgue à la recherche de l'aide, en créant une tornade de panique et de méfiance. En très peu de temps, le groupe bigarré d'étrangers est forcé à s'aider comme ils se débattent pour échapper à l'ombre menaçante qui surgit jamais plus près avec chaque haleine passagère.
